Foreign ministers Diana Elena Mondino (Argentina), Mauro Vieira (Brazil), Celinda Sosa (Bolivia), Rubén Ramírez Lezcano (Paraguay), and Omar Paganini (Uruguay) will address, among other issues, the prolonged negotiations with the European Union (EU) to conclude a trade agreement between the two parties, Última Hora informed.
MERCOSUR and the EU concluded trade talks in 2019 and expected to complete the agreement in 2023. They disagreed on some environmental aspects that still hindered the negotiation.
The local newspaper reported on Tuesday that a successful conclusion of the treaty talks would establish a free trade area of 700 million people.
