Judicial sources confirmed that De Moraes justifies the decision on the need, pointed out by the Federal Police, to have more time to conduct procedures that are still pending.
The judge argued that he adopted the decision “due to the presence of strong indications and significant evidence pointing to the existence of a real criminal organization.”
Such structure, he added, of forceful digital performance and production, publication, financing, and similar “threaten democracy and the Rule of Law.”
According to analysts, digital militias are groups of non-existent people and profiles that disseminate true and fake news for a political party, ideologies, and social issues.
De Moraes authorized in October to share the final report of the Joint Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPMI) on the January 8, 2023 coups and all evidence with the inquiries on digital militias.
