“The surveys are very good for us. Some give 45, others 46, others 44 percent support,” said Pereira at the end of the meeting of the FA Political Table, which made decisions about the start of the electoral campaign for the October elections. “There are conditions for the Uruguayan people to elect the Frente Amplio to lead the country’s destinies in the next five years,” he said.

Pereira made it clear that up until the internal elections, in June, there will be at least five events in which the presidential candidates of the alliance will participate together.

The first will be on February 11th, the 53rd anniversary of the founding of Frente Amplio,

which will mark the official start of the campaign.

The applicants will tour the country in the coming months, Pereira said.

“We are aware that we will win if the organizational structure that forms the Frente Amplio and if the ideas and its programmatic proposal manage to move” Uruguayans, he stated.

He added that the FA faces the electoral battle with fewer resources than the ruling parties, “but with a very important capacity for mobilization, so as to be able to win the elections in the month of October.”
