In his speech during the last day of the New Operation Truth International Conference, held in Havana, Gaid urged for a closer collaboration between alternative and counter-hegemonic media to adequately address the issues as required by the nations.

“Operation Truth requires a rebirth, looks for new renewed forms in a world that renews itself, and that is why it is very useful to think of new methods to strengthen this southern forum in defense of the causes of our nations,” he asserted.

Algeria is considered as a revolutionary referent, and we, as a news agency, always develop a true operation.

Gaid assured that holding this conference is a valid experience and also considered that it is an international referent against hegemony.

He also emphasized the need to strengthen relations with other media because, according to him, it is important to keep interaction with other media for the defense of the countries of the Global South.

South-South cooperation must be conceived in many sectors, but collaboration in the press sector is vital, he said.

It is necessary to build bridges between news agencies that defend common interests so that the voice is strengthened and so that there is adequate coordination.

It is necessary, for example, to review how the Algerian news agency deals with an issue of a friendly country and not to be guided by enemy media. We must be consistent and coherent, and bet on the defense of our front.

He also urged in favor of strengthening links with Prensa Latina for diffusing the Algerian reality.
