Mekonnen, during a bilateral meeting with Swiss Federal Councilor for Foreign Affairs Ignazio Cassis on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, described how the adoption of a local economic policy created huge prospects for foreign investors, the Foreign Ministry quoted him as saying.
In this regard, he cited Geneva as one of Ethiopia’s coffee export markets.
As a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, Switzerland has been essential in the multilateral arena, he recalled while expressing Ethiopian expectations that it will maintain its impartial stance on international issues brought before the council.
For his part, Cassis announced that he would visit Addis Ababa in mid-March next as a unique opportunity to promote diplomatic relations between the two countries. He promised to expand ties at the bilateral and international levels.
