Albanese will arrive in Madrid, invited by Manu Pineda, European deputy of the United Left (IU), in order to carry out an intense program of events and meetings related to current situation in Palestine.
The UN rapporteur will be also attending a main event on Thursday, January 18, together with Pineda, who also chairs the Delegation for relations of the European Parliament with Palestine.
Under the slogan ‘Palestine, the right to exist’, the event will include speeches by the Minister of Youth and Childhood Sira Rego and the Publico newspaper Director Virginia Perez Alonso.
Albanese will have several meetings with several social and political organizations to exchange their demands, as well as to convey to authorities and NGOs the pressing need to take concrete measures to put an end to ‘the horror that is being lived in Gaza’.
Likewise, she will hold a meeting with high-ranking officials of the Palestine Embassy.
Pineda described Albanese’s visit to Spain as transcendental, noting that ‘an unprecedented solidarity movement is taking place, which still has to be translated into more pressure measures to put an end to the massacre suffered by the Palestinians under the longest occupation in modern history, especially in Gaza’.
