China promotes global cooperation and openness in Davos

Davos, Switzerland, Jan 16 (Prensa Latina) China on Tuesday defended its commitment to international cooperation, openness, and strengthening mutual trust in the global scenario at the World Economic Forum.

Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang assured that Beijing will not break its commitments or force others to choose sides, and underlined the country’s firm stance in defense of multilateralism.

“No matter how the world situation develops, China will maintain the basic policy of openness and will open up abroad more and more,” Li stressed at the Davos Forum.

At another point, the Chinese head of Government stressed that scientific and technological achievements should benefit all humanity instead of being exploited to restrict the development of other nations.

The Davos Forum was founded by Klaus Schwab, a German-born economist and entrepreneur, and is considered the leading event in the economic field.

The meeting, scheduled from January 15 to 19, brings together the leading managerial leaders, politicians, academics, and social scientists to analyze humanity’s biggest problems.

“Rebuilding Trust” is the theme of the Forum, which aims to restore global cooperation and solidarity in the light of the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, climate change, inequality, and digital transformation.
