On the meeting, both sides discussed the mechanisms for resolving the differences caused by the illegal occupation of Angolan territory by farmers from the neighboring country, according to a press release from the Foreign Ministry.

Official talks were chaired by the Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs Téte António, and Namibia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Head of International Relations and Cooperation Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.

António thanked his counterpart for her collaboration and leadership in the search for a harmonious resolution of the situation, not only for the sake of both countries, but fundamentally for the cross-border communities.

Angolan FM further highlighted the excellent historical relations of sisterhood between the two nations, which should be preserved and strengthened.

Meanwhile, Nandi-Ndaitwah thanked the Angolan Government for allowing Namibian cattle breeders to graze their cattle on those lands, which they do due to the intense drought and lack of pastures in their northern regions as a result of climate change.
