According to Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Mao Ning, the export control measures imposed by Washington on this sector are discriminatory practices and violate the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT).
The spokeswoman rejected the restrictions on Chinese telecommunications equipment companies for alleged threats to online information security.
Washington included these companies on a blacklist that bans such pieces of equipment from entering the American market.
“The United States often mentions international rules. What is doing is ignoring and undermining those rules,” she stressed.
Mao explained that unilateral actions go beyond national security and affect trade intended for the civilian population.
