In a report by Cubavision Internacional television station, the entity said that the calendar will begin in February with the 57th Cerro Pelado-Granma International Wrestling Tournament, an event that returns after failing to be held last year.
As usual, Havana and Varadero will be the most used venues, but there will also be competitions in other territories.
Among the main events are the Havana Triathlon, which includes the Ibero-American Triathlon Championship, and the Taekwondo Open, to be held at the Havana Sports City Coliseum.
For the first time, two events for the senior category organized by the Caribbean Baseball Confederation will be held in Varadero, the first of Baseball-in June 5, and a month later there will be a women’s baseball tournament.
Other traditional events include the ‘Manuel Suarez in Memoriam’ weightlifting competition, the Varadero International Marathon, the ‘Capablanca in Memoriam’ chess tournament, the Marabana and the ‘Marcelo Salado’ Swimming Cup.
The second edition of the International Judo Carnival and the Great Open Water Swimming Challenge will be held in Cuba’s main beach resort.
The program also includes the traditional stop of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour, the Havana Skate Marathon and the basketball qualifiers for the America’s Cup 2025.
