New York, Jan 4 (Prensa Latina) The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York will open on March 8 the exhibition "Crafting Modernity: Design in Latin America, 1940-1980", which investigates how design impacted ways of live in the region.

This is the first major exhibition in the United States that examines the design of this area of the planet, now across six countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela.

Such nations shared similar processes of modernization and spearheaded the development of contemporary domestic design in Latin America.

The exhibition will have examples of the interior decoration of the iconic “Casa sobre el Arroyo” in Mar del Plata, Argentina, by architects Amancio Williams and Delfina Gálvez Bunge, according to the headquarters.

Through 150 objects, including furniture, graphic design, textiles, ceramics and photography, from the MoMA collection and public and private collections in the United States, Latin America and Europe, the exhibition will show how the field of design in this geographical area allows us to examine and understand political, social and cultural transformations.
