In a report on the violations committed by that country against Palestinian culture in 2023, the institution denounced that the objective is to “erase the national memory and promote the distortion of facts”.

It cited among the systematic violations committed last year the assassinations and arrest of artists and writers, as well as attempts to Judaize archaeological areas and the old quarters of the cities of Jerusalem, Nablus, Hebron and Sebastia.

He also criticized the destruction of historic buildings, museums, public squares, memorials, works of art and artistic murals, in addition to the theft of antiquities and archaeological finds.

The systematic war against our people is a continuation of the Nakba (catastrophe, in Arabic) that began seventy-five years ago, and still continues today, said Culture Minister Atef Abu Seif, referring to the creation of the Jewish State in 1948 and the expulsion of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their homes.
