The congressman expressed the day before that while the Government of the Liberty and Refoundation Party (Libre) reinforces the justice system, and acts according to the Constitution and the laws, others want to come and tell them what is the right thing to do.
“To us, who gave us the mandate was the Honduran people, therefore, only they have the sovereignty to evaluate us, we do not need any signed authorization, which comes to approve the measures taken by the Government”, the parliamentarian said quoted by Channel 8 television.
According to this source, Tomé also made reference to a statement issued by the U.S. State Department related to the imposition of visa restrictions to certain officials of the Legislative Branch.
He added that this is a sovereign decision of Washington to decide who enters or does not enter their country, and demanded respect for Honduras “as a sovereign state with the mandate of the people to build a project to generate welfare, justice and development in the country”.
“We believe in a respectful relationship between States, in multilateralism, in mutual cooperation and equal treatment between both nations”, he stressed.
