Beijing, Dec 13 (Prensa Latina) China considered that the growth of its relations with Argentina obey to a strategic and long-term perspective.

According to the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Mao Ning, both parties are important developing countries and emerging economies with bilateral ties in good shape.

The spokeswoman responded to doubts about the permanence of the currency swap agreement between the People’s Bank of China and the Central Bank of Argentina.

“We are willing to work with the new government for the sustained and constant development of the comprehensive strategic partnership,” she emphasized.

Previously, the Asian Foreign Ministry assured that the Argentine President, Javier Milei, attaches great importance to its relations with Beijing.

The Foreign Ministry added that the South American side “is willing to further promote in-depth exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including economy and trade and cultural and people-to-people exchanges.”

Spokeswoman Mao Ning said that the special envoy of the Chinese president to the inauguration of the president-elect held a meeting with him in Buenos Aires and both underlined the potential of such collaboration.

The leader of the far-right La Libertad Avanza party won more than 55% of the votes in the second round of the presidential elections in Argentina.

During his election campaign, Milei made controversial statements regarding the future of relations with China as it is a communist country.
