The meeting, scheduled for December 10-11, will be the perfect setting for Guterres to insist on multiple challenges of today’s world.

During the opening ceremony, Guterres will call for tackling geopolitical divisions, global inequalities, devastating conflicts and climate chaos, among other challenges.

He will also call for a serious effort to update global structures based on equality and solidarity, the UN Charter and international law.

As part of his agenda, Guterres will have several bilateral meetings in Qatar before returning to Dubai, venue of the UN Climate Conference (COP28).

Doha Forum is nowadays devoting its sessions to analyzing the unprecedented fragmentation and competition between great powers on the planet, while emerging technology threatens to divide and polarize the global order.

According to the organizers, the Doha Forum comes at a time when proactive engagement, results-focused thinking and dialogue are more important than ever.
