President Díaz-Canel in Cuba after finishing a tour of Middle East

Havana, Dec 7 (Prensa Latina) President Miguel Díaz-Canel returned to Cuba on Thursday after visiting several Middle East countries and participating in the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai.

Early Thursday, Vice President Salvador Valdés, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, Communist Party Organization Secretary Roberto Morales, and Council of Ministers Secretary Armando Ricardo Guerra received Díaz-Canel at Havana’s José Martí International Airport , according to an official note on the X platform.

Since November 28, the Cuban president made official visits to the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Iran, where he held official talks with his counterparts and addressed issues on the bilateral and international agenda.

At COP28, the head of State met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh (Vietnam), Abiy Ahmed Ali (Ethiopia), Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Nepal), besides United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

Díaz-Canel, as a pro tempore president of the bloc, opened the G77+China Summit within the framework of COP28 with a call to close gaps.
