Venezuelans waged the crusade for almost a month across the domestic states and municipalities, which they completed on Friday in a central avenue of Caracas with a massive concentration, which included students, workers, members of the National Armed Forces and the Bolivarian Militia, among others.
This campaign movement had the particularity to be conducted without political distinction, aimed at promoting unity around a national affair: the defense of the Essequiba Guyana, which will have its completion on Sunday with the celebration of a popular referendum.
The Consultative Referendum will be the 7th held in Venezuela, and the 30th election since the beginning of the Bolivarian Revolution; and over 20 million voters have been summoned by the National Electoral Council to attend it.
On Friday’s public act in the vicinity of the Miraflores Palace, the Government’s headquarters, and in front of hundreds of people, President Nicolas Maduro stated that this was a “non-partisan and non-ideologized” campaign highlighting its campaign dissemination across the country’s states and even in schools.
Hector Rodriguez, responsible for broad alliances and micro-campaigns of the crusade, predicted that on December 3, the people will go out to vote in peace and democracy, and urged the whole family for exercising their right to vote.
On Friday, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued the resolution on the request filed by Guyana to this UN tribunal, in which it demanded, “the consultative referendum should not be held or that questions one, three and five should be modified.”
Executive Vice-President Delcy Rodriguez stressed that in its decision the ICJ “dismissed -as a whole- this unheard of and unfounded request,” which relates to a matter of Venezuela’s exclusive domain.
She pointed out that they are “very pleased” because the Court dismissed Guyana’s requests to stop the referendum or modify its questions.
Maduro announced during the week a series of economic measures to continue advancing in the strengthening of that activity across the country, among them the renewal of the exoneration decree in defense of national production and a Special Financing Plan.
In addition to the entry into force of a new law, known as the Venezuelan Insurance Activity Law.Venezuelans have to achieve that the country rises above difficulties to build a powerful and wealth-generating real economy, Maduro assured.
