The Cuban diplomat participated in the meeting on Monday entitled “Economy of Life,” organized by the New Delhi-based Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), according to a source from the Cuban Embassy.
Simancas stressed that Cuba has assumed this responsibility as a fundamental part of its foreign policy.
The ambassador explained Cuba’s history of cooperation in the fight against colonialism and supporting the nations’ development, a note from the diplomatic legation stressed.
Simancas referred to Cuba’s international medical cooperation and the progress achieved in recent years despite the economic difficulties caused by the tightening of the US economic, commercial, and financial blockade.
He also discussed the main results of the G77+China Summit, chaired by Cuba and held in Havana on September 15-16.
The Cuban ambassador also reflected on the need to change the world order and the financial architecture to meet the needs and interests of the nations of the South.
