“Solidarity cannot be blocked like food, medicines and even oxygen in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic as it happened with Cuba”, as assured by Dr. Émer Valderrama, president of this social movement in Cochabamba.
Valderrama availed himself of such an opportunity to welcome the Cuban Ambassador to Bolivia Danilo Sánchez, the representative for the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) Junior Bolaños, Cuban diplomats as well as members of the solidarity movement from La Paz, Cochabamba, Pando, Oruro, Tarija and Beni, on the 7th anniversary of Fidel Castro´s death.
Plus, the meeting was attended by specialists from Cuba´s Health Ministry (MINSAP), doctors graduated in Cuba, Cuban residents in Bolivia and children of martyrs of Che Guevara’s guerrilla in this country.
As closing speech, Ambassador Sanchez stressed that solidarity to break the blockade has to be concrete and also praised collaboration between the two countries in livestock, agriculture, advances in the medical-pharmaceutical industry and in other sectors.
