The Bolivian Solidarity Movement said that the gathering would take place in the department of Cochabamba on November 25th as a tribute to Fidel Castro.
A note delivered to Prensa Latina states that Bolivian social, cultural, academic, and political organizations, doctors who graduated in Cuba, and groups of workers, women and youth from Cochabamba, La Paz, and Santa Cruz are coordinating efforts to ensure the success of the event.
According to the statement, the participants will demand the end of the United States blockade against Cuba and the elimination of Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
Another objective of the forum is to strengthen solidarity actions towards Cuba in the nine departments of Bolivia and call on social and political organizations to participate in the activities organized by the Cuba Solidarity Movement in each department. A national statement will be issued with the conclusions of the meeting.
“It is essential to return to the teachings and legacy of the Commander in Chief of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of his physical disappearance (November 25th, 2016),” the document concludes.
