The Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the Israeli missile strike carried out on Wednesday in the south of the capital and rejected the global silence regarding these attacks. “The pursuit of this aggressive approach by Tel Aviv is the result of the international community’s shameful blind eye to the savagery committed, including its brutal genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza, a territory that has become a children’s cemetery,” the statement said.
The Foreign Ministry highlighted that such criminal acts constitute a threat to the security and stability of the region, and demanded that Israel be held accountable for its atrocities, and reiterated Syria’s full right to defend its sovereignty and independence by all means endorsed in International rights.
The Syrian air defense repelled a new Israeli missile strike against the south of the capital.
This is the 43rd attack launched against Syrian territory this year by Israel, which justifies them with the argument that they are aimed at Iranian targets and the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement.
Syria claims that the attacks cause casualties among civilians, prolong the war, keep the country unstable and weaken the national army.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry urged the United Nations Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities and put an end to these Israeli aggressions.
