Cepal1
Santiago de Chile, Nov 23 (Prensa Latina) The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) will present the 2023 report on the social panorama of the region; this time it has labor inclusion as its central axis.

The document will be released by the executive secretary of ECLAC, José Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs, according to a statement from the organization.

The report contains updated data on poverty, inequality, social spending, Gross Domestic Product per capita, employment, inflation, and household income distribution in the region.

This week, ECLAC received the Secretary General of the UN, António Guterres, who met with all the staff of the organization and the United Nations agencies, funds, and programs working in Chile. The visit coincided with the 75th anniversary of the founding of the organization.

Guterres highlighted the trajectory and importance of ECLAC as a fundamental reference for economic and social thinking, and in the articulation of sustainable development policies for the area.

Guterres is in Chile to visit Antarctica with President Gabriel Boric in order to verify the impacts caused by climate change.
