At least 13,300 Palestinians have lost their lives in Gaza at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces since the escalation that began last October 7, including 5,500 children, the group stressed.
“In addition to that appalling figure, more than 30,000 people have been injured, 75% of them women and children,” it stressed.
Perhaps the most disturbing statistic is the more than 6,000 Palestinians missing under the rubble, including 1,770 children, who are dying slowly, alone and frightened, CodePink lamented.
The tragic reality is that these numbers are likely already out of date, as they are increasing by the hour, it warned.
“But these are not just numbers: 13,300 universes have been wiped off this Earth without a second thought. Gazans are some of the most resilient and beautiful souls on this earth, they have endured much and deserve to be remembered that way, not as a statistic,” it said.
CodePink urged the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate Israel’s war crimes and to try the Zionist regime for genocide.
It further condemned Israel’s “attacks on hospitals – an unprecedented inhumane tactic – have put 21 of Gaza’s 35 hospitals out of service.”
It noted that Israeli propaganda justifies these attacks on unfounded evidence and even if their claims were true, “that does not justify attacking hospitals, which is a violation of international law.”
It argued that Gaza is not the only area in Palestine under attack. “Since Oct. 7, West Bank villages have been under curfew and closure,” the organization said.
“Since October 7, at least 215 Palestinians have been killed by Israel in the West Bank, including 50 children, and 2,750 more were injured,” CodePink explained as it recalled that more than 5,000 Palestinians were detained there.
