China for applying UN resolutions in the Israel-Palestine conflict

Beijing, Nov 21 (Prensa Latina) China considers urgent the ceasefire and the implementation of the resolutions of the Security Council and the UN General Assembly on the Palestinian issue, the Foreign Ministry emphasized.

Spokeswoman Mao Ning said that in order to achieve peace, the first thing is to respect international law, especially humanitarian law. “China opposes any forced displacement and relocation of Palestinian civilians. Any settlement regarding the future and destiny of Palestine must be based on the consent of those people and take into account the legitimate concerns of countries in the region,” she stressed.

The spokeswoman pointed out that the definitive answer to this question lies in the application of the two-state solution, which would mean recognizing the State of Palestine.

Beijing discussed these proposals with the delegation of foreign ministers from Arab and Islamic countries visiting China.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi previously stressed that the ceasefire is”a matter of life and death for the people of Gaza. It is the current need of the people of Gaza, the desire of the vast majority of countries, and the unanimous voice of all peace-loving peoples throughout the world.

Wang Yi made these statements during a meeting with his Palestinian counterpart, Riyad al-Maliki, who is part of the delegation, and urged the international community to take “effective measures” so that the war “does not advance further,”. He expressed China’s commitment to continue “engaging in peace talks with multiple actors.”

The Palestinian delegation thanked China for its leadership in promoting the adoption of important resolutions by the General Assembly and the Security Council. They also highlighted the large number of civilian casualties in Gaza and added that Arab and Islamic countries expect China to play a greater role in ending hostilities.
