While World Children’s Day is celebrated worldwide this Monday, the dream of Palestinian children in Gaza is being destroyed by the Israeli occupation, the Ministry affirmed in a statement.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates warned that “Palestinian children are subjected to arbitrary, indiscriminate, and excessive use of force, resulting in a tragic situation of widespread suffering and lasting trauma.”

In the last six weeks, more than 5,500 of them have been killed in attacks on Gaza, while thousands remain under the rubble and are presumed dead, it stressed.

The Foreign Ministry warned that those who survive “this carnage are forced to endure inhumane conditions of displacement, hunger, dehydration, and lack of basic needs¨.

The Palestinian Prisoners Club, in turn, denounced that the country’s security forces have arrested more than 880 minors since early 2023.
