On November 20, 2019, at the Tryp Habana Libre Hotel in Havana, coinciding with the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the creation of INIT, the Cuban Tourism Day was declared, at a time of full activity of the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR).
Such date was declared by presidential decree to pay tribute to people and institutions of all kinds that accompany or intervene in the development of this important economic sector for Cuba.
Therefore, so far, over 10 outstanding people in the sector have been mentioned, as is the case of the Vice President of the National Commission of Tourism History Rafael Sed Perez, the director of the Las Terrazas Complex and Cuba’s first minister of Tourism.
