“Reactionary fireworks in Argentina. Chemically pure liberalism. Unfiltered climate skepticism, toxic masculinism, homophobia, and transphobia have been confirmed,” Olivier Faure, first secretary of the Socialist Party, wrote on his X account.
Clementine Autain, a lawmaker from the Insubordinate France (LFI) party, expressed on the same social platform her support for all Argentinians who will resist the policies of the representative from La Libertad Avanza (Liberty Advances-LLA), who surpassed by a wide margin (double digits) the candidate from Unión por la Patria (Union for the Homeland, UP) alliance, Economy Minister Sergio Massa.
Autain recalled Milei’s announcements of cuts in public spenditures and branded him as “anarcho-capitalist, climate skeptic, and a Bolsonaro/Trump admirer.” Ecologist lawmaker Sandrine Rousseau also reacted to Milei’s election, claiming that with his victory, Argentina had fallen into “carbon-fascism.”
