According to a review of the exhibition, the artist reveals a new stage in his already fruitful career as of his training at the San Alejandro Academy in Havana.
The purity, power, serenity, and anguish present in these miniature and monumental faces and the diversity of materials show once again the omnipresence and legacy of his ancestors to the national culture. A consulting professor at the University of the Arts and a member of the National Association of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC), Diago is distinguished by including in his work the constant presence of slaves in contemporary man, his struggle, and his resistance.
This artist’s works are included in hundreds of personal and collective exhibitions in about 25 countries and a score of relevant collections globally.
