The meeting will be held from this day until November 27 with the presence of various initiatives and a broader discourse of socio-cultural interrelation.
According to recent statements by the Italian Ambassador to Cuba, Roberto Vellano, and the Cultural Counselor and Deputy Chief of Mission, Guglielmo Pirrone, this year’s event is linked to activities that have been taking place in this capital for several months.
The celebration in October of Italo Calvino’s centennial is considered the preamble to the meetings between the two nations, as well as several actions to promote Italian cuisine and the Habana Clásica International Festival.
This is an event that will not only present Italian artists in Cuba but also aims at establishing more lasting relations.
The interaction with Habana Clásica began in 2022 as a very positive experience and an agreement was also reached between the diplomatic headquarters of the European country, the aforementioned festival and the Academia Musicale Chigiana.
This represents the oldest institution in Italy, with high musical training and close collaboration with the classical event.
At the headquarters of the Dante Alighieri Committee and the Fernando Ortiz Foundation, there will also be a reading of texts of the intellectual, with improvisation by artist David Riondino.
The XXV Week of Italian Culture in Cuba will close with a chamber music concert by the Chagall Trio on Monday, November 27 at the San Francisco de Asis Convent.
