Brazil’s officers protest for wage reform

Brasilia, Nov 16 (Prensa Latina) Brazil’s agents and officers of the Federal Police (PF) encouraged on Thursday a second national protest in favor of wage reforms.

Protesters, who staged a previous riot on October 26, demand the definition of a proposal for salary readjustment.

The largest action took place in Brasilia, where officers gathered in front of the PF headquarters and then in the external area of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, next to the Planalto Palace, seat of the Executive Power.

The expectation is that next day, November 28, a meeting will be held between the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services, the PF, class entities and the Justice Ministry.

The following day, November 29, the police and administrative officers of the PF will participate in a solemn session in the Chamber of Deputies, in which there will be an act in favor of the restructuring of careers.

According to Flavio Jose Isoton, president of the Rio Grande do Sul Federal Police Union (Sinpef-RS), there is disproportion between the agents’ wages, not only within the corporation, but also in relation to the earnings of employees of other public institutions.
