Extremely satisfactory results were achieved in the first ground explosion tests of the first- and second-stage engines, which is of great strategic significance, the agency said, and added that they also verified the reliability and stability of the design capability and manufacturing technique of the Korean-technology solid-fueled high-power engines.

According to the missile directorate, these tests are indispensable for improving the strategic capability of the DPRK armed forces in the face of the growing instability on the Korean Peninsula, due to the enemy’s military operations.
