The incident occurred on Sunday, November 12. Although the Army reported 11 deaths, local sources announced that 26 Congolese citizens were killed, and other civilians and a soldier were abducted by the Armed Forces of the DR Congo (FARDC).

According to local sources, 26 bodies were recovered early Monday. Congo army spokesperson, Captain Anthony Mwalushay, gave a provisional figure of 11 dead.
