We must hit an economic progress that prioritizes complementarity and the exchange of goods and services to the extent of the financial possibilities at our disposal, González said at the 39th International Fair of Havana (FIHAV-2023).

González added that it is too complicated to attain a fluid trade, “but we can and must take advantage of commercial niches and enhance their development,” and she also mentioned investments as a sector Caribbean nations can progress in.

In FIHAV-2023 Cuba launched a broad investment portfolio in various areas of the economy, government structures and our companies are ready to meet each request, she stated.

The first deputy minister recalled that in late 2022 and early 2023, during President Miguel Díaz-Canel’s tour of several countries, interests were identified in health, education, construction and food sectors which are given special follow-up, leading to increased cooperation and Cuban technical assistance in the Caribbean.
