At the Havana Club Rum Museum in this capital, they showed the press this novelty that covers the most important rum traditions in the country, and now they are exhibiting it globally, as part of the 39th Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2023, 6- November 11).
The tasting and presentation panel was made up of the president of the Havana Club Interantional (HCI) company, Christian Barré, the commercial manager for the product island, Ahmed Álvarez, and the Master of Cuban Rum Asbel Morales.
They pointed out that it is a collection that appeared for the first time in 2016 and this is its seventh version, based on musts of high quality and age.
They said that the Tribute Collection is a luxurious range of Limited Editions created with the best reserves of aged rum to discover the incomparable mastery in the production of Cuban spirits.
It is a tribute to the art in the process of creating these drinks, as well as to celebrate the extensive knowledge of the Masters of Cuban Rum, whose knowledge achieved the category of Cultural Heritage granted by the United Nations Educational Organization. , Science and Culture (UNESCO).
Morales is precisely the visionary behind the Tributo series, whose first edition was born from a unique limited batch aged for at least 16 years in oak barrels. The second arrived aged for 23 years and whose oldest drop dates back to 1978, with a wide range of aromas, they explained.
They noted that the resulting rum is a mixture of these two bases, giving rise to an exceptional spirit, with a palate of a sweet entrance of cane honey accompanied by notes of nuts and spices, which meant the tasting in which they included the journalists.
The current edition is limited to only 2,500 bottles at a price of 500 euros each, of which 350 will be sold in Cuban tourism (drink with 40 percent alcohol content, available in 16 national markets.
At a global level it will even appear linked to La Casa del Habano, a franchise with more than 140 establishments on the planet, and which in addition to selling the famous Cuban cigars, includes notable items and products from this island in its list.
One method of selling this and other Havana Club products will be through a newly created website (www.ronencasa.com), they specified.
This novelty is part of the programs for the 30 years of creation of the Havana Club International firm (CubaRon and Pernod Ricard of France, November 23, 1993) whose marketing efforts are described as successful by its executives.
In 1994, HCI sold 400,000 cases of Havana Club rum worldwide (priority for 7 Years) and at the end of June 2023, fiscal year, they distributed 4.3 million cases, Barré recalled.
