Calvimontes told Bolivia TV that “the department where the largest number of fires is registered is La Paz, although they are not of great magnitude.”

The La Paz municipalities are Palos Blancos, Caranavi, Inquisivi and San Buenaventura, where two helicopters and more than 80 forest firefighters have been mobilized to combat the flames.

An aerial patrol over the Chiquitania region showed that there are two forest fires in Santa Cruz.

According to Calvimontes, 30-percent control of one of these fires has not been achieved yet, they are expected to be neutralized completely in 72 hours.
