From December 3 to 9, several events will be held to boost the tourism industry in Antigua and Barbuda and to recognize both individuals and companies for their work in this sector, the Daily Observer newspaper reported.
The celebration begins Dec. 3 with a service at Holy Family Cathedral and a cricket match between the England and West Indies teams, the website reported.
During the week there will be cooking competitions, wellness programs, small sports activities by renowned fitness trainers and a sporting event involving Ministry of Tourism employees, the source advised.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne will visit various institutions on Antigua, such as Island Academy, St. Anthony’s Secondary School, UWI Five Islands, Antigua State College and the Antigua and Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute. The objective is to bring Antigua and Barbuda’s young people closer to work in the tourism sector, the capital’s press reported.
