The head of state thus referred to the threats made by the Israeli Minister of Heritage, Amichai Eliyahu, who suggested using a nuclear bomb against the Gaza Strip.
“That has not been heard before, several governments around the world are comparing this situation with the Nazi extermination of the noble and beloved Jewish people by the racists and supremacists of that time,” Maduro said.
The Foreign Ministry released a statement on Sunday condemning the minister’s statements, considering them “a serious transgression” of all international agreements, and a demonstration that the State of Israel has degenerated into a threat to life on the planet.
Maduro ratified his solidarity with Palestine and called to stop in time the Zionist genocide against the Palestinian people, victims of Israel’s crimes, which in 31 days caused the death of over 10 thousand people and injured more than 27 thousand in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
He commented on the bombings of hospitals, where the sick and wounded die, mosques, an Orthodox Catholic church and refugee centers, where families have lived for years. “This is the last straw,” he said.
The President asserted that the genocide against the Palestinian people “touches us Christians in our hearts,” and called on the Muslims, the Arab peoples and the peoples of the world “in the name of Christ” to raise their voices against the Nazi genocide on the Palestinian people.
