Ethiopian State Minister of Finance, Semereta Sewasew, and Japanese Ambassador to Ethiopia, Ito Takako, chaired the briefings on the draft National Assistance Policy for Ethiopia, in which Tokyo plans to contribute to human security and high-quality economic growth.
It also includes improved access, quality of social services, and increasing opportunities for Japanese companies to enter the Ethiopian market, further enhancing bilateral friendship, cooperation, and Japan’s presence in African regional diplomacy.
According to the Ethiopian News Agency, several targets, including “Investment in People” for the realization of human security in the process of reconstruction and rehabilitation from conflicts and natural disasters, were presented to attain the above policy.
Other targets presented were building a resilient economic structure by promoting a market economy system led by the private sector while rebuilding the infrastructure and establishing a sustainable socio-economic system.
The latter will promote resilient and sustainable growth and climate change countermeasures based on vulnerability and sustainable approaches to urban planning.
