African Bank launches consultation on PSDI

Abidjan, Nov 3 (Prensa Latina) The African Development Bank launched in Ivory Coast a regional technical consultation on the Public Service Delivery Index (PSDI), the financial institution announced on Friday.

According to the information, the overall goal of the PSDI is to contribute to improving the quality and coverage of services to citizens; hence, the relevance of outlining the methodology, framework and structure of this technical tool, which should provide timely and transparent information.

The African Development Bank’s Vice President for Economic Governance and Knowledge Management Kevin Urama considered that the PSDI will serve to evaluate the implementation of the institution’s ten-year strategy, as well as the Agenda 2063 signed by the African countries.

The ongoing consultation should be undertaken with responsibility and transparency, expert Eric Ogunleye from the African Development Institute pledged, considering the opportunities for feedback for banks and governments. The source referred that the regional consultative sessions will continue in November with meetings in Kenya, South Africa, Cameroon, Nigeria and Tunisia.
