Beijing rejected new U.S. sanctions against Chinese companies

tpsancionesChina
Beijing, Nov 3 (Prensa Latina) China rejected the latest U.S. sanctions against Chinese companies and asked that country not to abuse state power to repress China's companies.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman, Wang Wenbin, reiterated the opposition to Washington’s measures, which insist on “stretching the concept of national security too far”.

According to the spokesman, the U.S. has again imposed unilateral sanctions on Chinese companies under the pretext of a “Russia-related” problem in a short period of time, which is a typical act of economic coercion and unilateral bullying action.

“The U.S. side should immediately rectify its irregularities and stop trying to contain and suppress Chinese enterprises,” he stressed.

He further stressed that Beijing will take necessary measures to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies.

These new tensions come amid a context of bilateral rapprochement preceded by the visit of high-level White House officials to China and the agenda of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Washington.

The United States imposed a new round of sanctions on 130 companies and individuals in Türkiye, China and the United Arab Emirates to prevent Russian access to tools and equipment allegedly linked to the conflict in Ukraine.
