Deputy prime ministers Dmitri Chernishenko and Ricardo Cabrisas signed the document, which is aimed at increasing commercial, economic and scientific-technical cooperation, stimulating the growth of trade and investments, and strengthening ties between business communities.
The functionaries also examined bilateral projects, including the construction of solar power stations in Cuba, a full-cycle agro-industrial enterprise for the cultivation and processing of sugar cane, the production of fertilizers, as well as various infrastructure.
Chernishenko assured that it is of great importance to consolidate cooperation to work in the energy sphere to create favorable conditions for Russian investments in the Cuban economy.
They also addressed issues related to the development of tourism and highlighted that over 60 thousand Russian vacationers visited Cuba in the first half of the current year, a trend that is increasing.
to allow this growth, the Russian Ministry of Transport will increase the number of flights up to 10 weekly by the end of the year.
The Russian side proposed that the 21st meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission be held in Moscow in the second half of February 2024 to check on the progress of the agreements.
