Cuba resists and advances despite US blockade, says Cuban PM

Paris, Nov 1 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero on Wednesday addressed the challenges faced by his nation as a result of the U.S. blockade and hostility, and also reaffirmed the willingness to resist and move forward with its own efforts.

During a stop in Paris on his way to official visits to China and Belarus, Marrero met with the Cuban embassy staffers to France, with whom he shared details of Cuba´s present situation and the impact of external and geopolitical events.

According to Marrero, the scenario is marked by the damage caused by the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States for over 60 years, tightened during the Donald Trump administration.

The Prime Minister said that Washington’s measures follow a design created to cause damage to key sectors of the economy and society, among them tourism, electricity generation and the production of medicines and food.

We are undoubtedly facing a complex situation, to which the answer is to work and continue advancing on the basis of solutions and alternatives, he stressed at the meeting.
