The number of fatalities occurred on the roads grew 2.65 percent compared to the first 10 months of 2022, the agency detailed and pointed out that in the case of accidents there were 9,826, representing a year-on-year increase of 12.54 percentage points.
Most of the events (9,713) took place on highways and roads and resulted in 5,415 deaths and 6,944 injuries.
In the reporting period, 84 railway accidents occurred throughout Vietnam, resulting in 63 deaths and 22 injuries, while only 24 incidents occurred on waterways, killing 16 citizens and injuring seven.
In addition, five maritime incidents were reported in which two people died.
