The telluric movement had its epicenter southwest of Huasco, in the Atacama region, and at a depth of 46 kilometers, the Seismological Center of the University of Chile reported.
This tremor was also perceptible in the Coquimbo and Metropolitan regions, where the capital is located.
The Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Navy ruled out the possibility of a tsunami on the coasts of Chile.
