The diplomat denied that the bombings on Gaza are targeting the civilian population of the enclave and insisted on the rhetoric of the right to self-defense during the emergency session convened by the UN General Assembly.

“Israel is at war with the genocidal jihadist terrorist organization Hamas,” he said as he called the group the “modern Nazis.”

Erdan insisted that the goal of the Palestinian resistance is to “annihilate Israel and murder all Jews on the face of the Earth.”

Israel’s aim is to “completely eradicate Hamas’ capabilities and we will use all means at our disposal to achieve this,” he said without mentioning that 70 percent of the victims of the siege are women and children.

“Not for revenge, not for retaliation. But to ensure that such depravity and atrocity will never happen again,” the Israeli ambassador said.

The Oct. 7 attack and what followed had “nothing” to do with Palestinians, the Arab-Israeli conflict or the Palestinian issue, he remarked.
