The Extra News Egyptian TV broadcast footage of the vehicles crossing the Rafah border, which links Egypt with the Gaza Strip, and the only spot that is not controlled by Israel.
The videos showed groups of rescuers, aid workers and officials cheering the trucks’ entry due to news from the other side about the dramatic situation of 2.3 million Palestinians.
“Oh Palestine, oh Palestine, we are with you,” many of those present chanted at the site.
From this side of the border there are long lines of transports waiting to enter the Gaza Strip.
The aid arrived hours before the opening of an international peace summit, hosted and arranged by Egypt in an effort to stop the war cycle.
