In a communiqué, the Foreign Ministry of this South American country expressed its sorrow for what happened and its condolences to the families of the victims.

We reiterate that international law must be respected and we call for an end to the violence and guarantee the protection of the civilian population in order to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe, the text states.

Likewise, the Foreign Ministry informed that, within the framework of the solidarity policy and through the Argentine Agency for International Cooperation and Humanitarian Assistance, White Helmets, this nation offers aid for the population affected by the conflict between Palestine and Israel.

After the event, the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, accused Israel of the massacre, which he described as a war crime.

What happened last night is a great tragedy and a heinous war crime that cannot be tolerated or allowed, said the president, who called for Israel to be put in the dock.

It is an unforgivable crime and, therefore, the occupation government crossed all red lines and we will not allow it to escape responsibility and punishment’, he stressed.

For his part, the Israeli Army spokesman, Daniel Hagari, rejected this version and affirmed that the explosion was caused by a defective missile fired by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, which, in turn, denied this accusation.
