Mexican deputies approve in particular to eliminate trusts

Mexico City, Oct 18 (Prensa Latina) Mexican congressmen approved a reform to the Organic Law of the Judiciary of the Federation by 260 votes against 160, for the extinction of 13 of its 14 trusts.

This was announced today by the legislature in a press release where it indicates that Morena introduced a new transitory provision for the remaining funds to be destined ‘to programs that allow compliance with the National Development Plan’.

Likewise, to oblige the Judicial Power to publish a disaggregated and detailed report of the returned funds.

The draft copy passes to the Senate, he informs. He specifies that the fifth transitory provision added to the reform, as proposed by the coordinator of Morena, Ignacio Mier, establishes that in this report, several indications must be made.

For example, the amounts paid to the Treasury of the Federation in compliance with the principles of transparency, accountability, access to public information, maximum publicity and other related principles set forth in the Constitution and several laws.

The Judicial Branch, through its competent bodies, will have a maximum term of seven working days to publish the report, counted from the day after the corresponding payment is made to the Treasury of the Federation, it specifies.

Mier’s proposal was the only one of 69 reservations submitted.
