Participating in the event on the theme ‘Connectivity in an Open Global Economy,’ Ahmed shared the successes of the Initiative in the African country and said infrastructure used to bridge rather than divide offers value and builds trust.
‘In a world full of barriers, I call on all of us to build bridges to connect, both metaphorically and literally,’ he revealed on his social networking account X, formerly Twitter.
Similarly, he shared the genesis of Sino-African relations and the solid foundation for cooperation laid by the Belt and Road Initiative in infrastructure development within the African continent.
He also highlighted Africa’s growing influence and cited the importance of ensuring that multilateralism is inclusive.
The Third Forum of the Belt and Road Initiative for International Cooperation kicked off Tuesday with the participation of representatives from more than 140 nations and 30 global organizations.
It will be the stage for dialogue in a broad spectrum of areas ranging from trade, investment, to infrastructure and culture.
