‘The ministers call on the parties involved in the conflict to immediately cease hostilities and to ensure a sustainable ceasefire,’ the body said in a statement following the meeting held Thursday in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek.
The statement signed by the heads of diplomacy of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan also called on Israel and Hamas to facilitate the opening of humanitarian corridors to allow civilians leave the Gaza Strip.
On October 7, the armed wing of the Palestinian movement Hamas launched the surprise operation ‘Al Aqsa Flood’ against Israel from the Gaza Strip capturing more than a hundred Israeli prisoners, including soldiers and high-ranking officers.
In retaliation, Israeli troops launched operation ‘Iron Swords’ with massive aerial bombardment of Gaza and are preparing a ground operation.
The Israeli government imposed a total blockade on the Palestinian enclave of about two million inhabitants, cutting off electricity supplies and the entry of food, water and fuel.
The CIS Council of Foreign Ministers also condemned ‘any form of extremism, terrorism, hostage-taking and other acts of violence in relation to civilians, as well as the indiscriminate use of force in military operations’.

Cancilleres de la CEI instan a Israel y Hamás a cesar hostilidades
Bishkek, 13 oct (Prensa Latina) El Consejo de Ministros de Exteriores de la Comunidad de Estados Independientes (CEI) llamó hoy a Israel y al movimiento palestino Hamás a poner fin a la escalada del conflicto que ha dejado miles de muertos.
‘Los ministros llaman a las partes del conflicto al cese inmediato de las hostilidades y a garantizar un alto el fuego sostenible’, indicó el ente en una declaración tras la reunión sostenida el jueves en la capital kirguisa, Bishkek.
La declaración firmada por los jefes de la diplomacia de Armenia, Belarús, Kazajstán, Kirguistán, Rusia, Tayikistán y Uzbekistán pide también a Israel y Hamás facilitar la apertura de corredores humanitarios para que los civiles puedan salir de la Franja de Gaza.
El 7 de octubre, el brazo armado del movimiento palestino Hamás lanzó la operación sorpresa ‘Diluvio de Al Aqsa’ contra Israel desde la Franja de Gaza capturando a más de un centenar de prisioneros israelíes, entre soldados y oficiales de alto rango.
Las tropas israelíes en represalia iniciaron la operación ‘Espadas de Hierro’ con bombardeos aéreos masivos de Gaza y preparan una operación terrestre.
El Gobierno israelí impuso un bloqueo total al enclave palestino de unos dos millones de habitantes cortando el suministro eléctrico y la entrada de alimentos, agua y combustible.
El Consejo de Ministros de Exteriores de la CEI condenó también ‘cualquier forma de extremismo, terrorismo, la toma de rehenes y otros actos de violencia en relación con los civiles, así como el uso indiscriminado de la fuerza en las operaciones militares’.
